GWO Offshore Package

The GWO Offshore Starter package will allow rope access technicians to gain essential skills to start a Blade Repair Technician career. 
Completion of these courses enables you to carry out basic rotor blade repairs, as well as access Rotor Blades in a safe manner with rope access methods. This course opens the door to further on-site training or direct employment with leading global blade repair firms, including Altitec.

1 - GWO Blade Repair Training
A GWO Blade Repair Package includes all mandatory training required to start a career in the wind and renewable energy industry, in addition to specialist training for wind turbine blade repair technicians.

2 - GWO Basic Safety Training (5 modules)
Includes Working at Heights & Manual Handling – 2 days, Sea Survival – 1 day, Fire Awareness – 0.5 days, First Aid – 1.5 days

3 - GWO Advanced Rescue Training
Includes Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (HSIBR), Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue (NTBR), Single Rescuer: Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (SR:HSIBR), Single Rescuer: Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue (SR: NTBR).

4 - GWO Enhanced First Aid
Demonstrate understanding of the importance of carrying out First Aid in safe manner. Administering safe, effective and immediate lifesaving and enhanced first aid measures in remote areas using advanced emergency equipment, while having particular regard for personal protection, among other topics.

5 - IRATA Level 1
Able to perform a range of rope access manoeuvres. Responsible for inspections of all his/her own personal rope access equipment. Able to assist in rigging and non-standard operations, under supervision of a level 3. Able to undertake a rescue involving descent by him/herself and have knowledge of hauling systems

6 - Skylotec ActSafe power ascender training
The general safety guidelines when working with ActSafe ascenders and the basic requirements for lifting operations.

Delegate prerequisites

All personnel participating in GWO Training package shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Age restriction is 18+. Candidate must be WINDA registered. Further information available in participant’s joining instructions.
